Referee Role and Grade Levels

Guideline

CR for all Grades 5-12

Referees who are your most accomplished who you would trust on any game as a CR or as an AR.

CR for Grade 8 or AR for Grades 10 & 12

Refs who have proven to be strong on Grade 8 games as CR, but are not quite ready, or old enough, to CR Grade 10 or 12.

CR for Grade 6 or AR for Grade 8

Refs who have proven to be strong CRs for Grade 6 and strong Ars for Grade 8, but are not yet ready to CR for Grade 8.

AR Only for All Grades 6-12

Refs who have demonstrated strong ability on the lines, but are not as proficient in the CR role.

AR Only Grades 5-8

Refs with 2 or more seasons who have been strong on the lines, but are not old enough to run the lines for HS games and are not quite ready to CR a playoff game. 

AR Only Grade 5/6 (9v9)

Refs who have at least 2 seasons under their belt and have shown promise in the AR role. 

CR for Div 3/4 Gr 5-6

Refs who have at least two seasons under their belt and have shown promise in the CR role. 

CR for Div 3/4 Gr 8

Refs who have at least 3-4 seasons under their belt and have shown promise in the CR role. 

AR Only for Div 3/4 Gr 5-8

Refs who may be relatively new (only 1 season), but have demonstrated promise in the AR role.
