BAYS, in coordination with Mass Youth Soccer, may assign an educational component as part of resolving any misconduct matter involving a player, coach, referee, team official, volunteer, or spectator. The purpose of this requirement is corrective and educational, intended to promote safe, respectful, and sportsmanlike conduct in all sanctioned activities.
-
When imposed, the educational requirement must be completed within 30 calendar days from the date of written notice. Proof of completion must be submitted as directed in the notice.
-
Requirements will be tailored to the nature of the conduct and may include online courses, policy reviews, workshops, or other appropriate programs.
The assignment of an educational requirement does not itself constitute a suspension or restriction on participation. It is a standing obligation. However, failure to complete the requirement within the specified timeframe may result in additional disciplinary measures under BAYS and Mass Youth Soccer rules, policies, and procedures, which may include written reprimand, probation, further educational assignments, or suspension from future soccer activities pending compliance from the Respect Committee.
