The replacement game process should be used with games where referees showed up but the game did not start or was not completed to ensure that those referees get paid and a new replacement game can be created if needed.
Division Directors will receive a system message when a game in one of their sections did not kick off or was not fully completed and a referee details this on a game report or a referee assignor requests that a replacement game is needed in their Game Management system.
Review the BAYS policy on terminated matches to help determine your next steps. Terminated Matches: https://bays.org/content/guidelines-resolution-terminated-and-abandoned-games
A decision and further action in the Scoring Pad is required from the Division Director in this situation.
Step 1: Get to Scoring Pad
- Click on the My BAYS link on the left of the header bar and scroll down to the Division Director role and then over into the Scoring Pad.
- Click on box to select the section and scroll down to the game week you want to review. Then click the Score Sections button near the bottom.
Step 2: Review Game Details
- Click on the Highlighted Red Details! button to the right of the game in question. Read over the instructions/definitions that come up and review the alternatives.
- Select your action (REPLAY; NO REPLAY) from the dropdown.
- Click on Submit.
- Please respond in a timely manner (24 hours or less if possible).
Step 3: Return to the Scoring Pad to Verify Correct Score or Apply a Forfeit.
- Go back into the Scoring Pad for that section and game week
- If you selected REPLAY, then NO score should be showing in the original game number row (xxxx) and the game should be listed back at the default game time. A replacement game will be listed now as a separate row on the Scoring Pad with a -1 designation next to the game ID (xxxx-1) and the original game report will be linked there. The Details button will be blue.
- If you want the original game to be assigned a forfeit, apply that using the Selector Wheel in the Scoring Pad to the -1 game.
- If you selected NO REPLAY, then the reported score from the initial game report should show if one was recorded, the game ID will stay the same (xxxx) and the Details button will revert to blue.
- Further action by you using the Selector Wheel in the Scoring Pad will be needed to decide the disposition of the game.
- Let the results as entered count in standings - (NF). This would be for a partially played, abandoned game only.
- Apply a forfeit if warranted to a single team or both teams (HF/AF/DF)
- Declare No Game (NG) to have the game removed from counting in standings
- Further action by you using the Selector Wheel in the Scoring Pad will be needed to decide the disposition of the game.
